02 · Advisory for Artisanal & Small-Scale Miners

Running our own ASM operation means we understand the practical constraints other miners face, because we face them too.

What this covers

Formalisation support, cooperative and organisational structures, and responsible sourcing readiness: the practical requirements buyers and regulators increasingly expect. We help operators understand what is being asked of them and build toward it at a pace that fits their operation.

Health, safety and environmental practice improvements sized realistically to an ASM operation’s scale and resources. Access to traceability tools that make responsible sourcing claims genuinely verifiable.

Where customary land tenure or a traditional authority governs the site, we help operators formalise on terms that hold up on both fronts at once, so a formal licence is not contested locally the moment it is issued.

How we work

We work on-site and in the local language wherever possible. Recommendations are practical and sequenced: what to fix first, what can wait, and what it costs to get there.

Because we operate our own ASM site, our advice is grounded in direct operating experience alongside policy knowledge, in the same Sub-Saharan African conditions our clients work in.
